You are dropped into a forest the dead have taken back, with a pistol and nothing else. The waves come. Between assaults you spend what you tore from them. And at the end of it, something much bigger is waiting. Then the trees close behind you, and you keep going. Five places, one descent, and each one takes something away from you — the light, the space, the ground itself. Alone, or four of you online. And here is what changes everything: the friend who doesn't own a PC joins you from their phone, in the same game, losing nothing. It isn't a cut-down version. It's the same game.
