About this project

Most of us can point to maybe a dozen countries on a map with real confidence — not because geography isn't fascinating, but because it's usually taught as a list of facts to memorize. Mappios flips that around. At its core is a living, spinnable 3D globe: zoom in, click around, and discover a country's shape, neighbors, capital, and a few genuinely fun facts — before anyone quizzes you on any of it. Play Pinpoint enough times and you'll just suddenly know where Kyrgyzstan is. Seven ways to play: click the right country on the globe (Pinpoint), match capitals and flags, guess a country from nothing but its outline (Silhouette Guesser), sort countries by population or area, pick a country's real neighbors from a set of decoys, or crack a Wordle-style puzzle where the hidden word is a country or capital name (Word Atlas). Every mode has its own United States track too, for the fifty states specifically. Play solo, chase a daily streak, and climb the leaderboard — or send a friend a link and face the exact same questions for bragging rights. No signup wall: jump in as a guest, claim your progress with an account whenever you like. Fully responsive, so a quick round works as well in line as at a desk. Mappios isn't trying to replace a geography class — it's trying to be the game you'd choose instead of one, and somehow end up knowing the world a little better anyway.
